How to Draw from Concealment: Clearing Your Tarnkappe Gear

Train for the Critical Moment

Tarnkappe Gear highly recommends rigorous dry-fire practice using a blue gun or a firearm that has been visually and physically verified to be fully unloaded. Consistent training builds muscle memory, ensuring you are intimately familiar with:

  • How your clothing moves and clears.

  • The exact positioning of your firearm.

  • Establishing a secure, master grip on your weapon.

The Four Universal Safety Rules

Before practicing your draw, always adhere to the foundational rules of firearm safety:

  1. Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.

  2. Keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction at all times.

  3. Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until your sights are on the target.

  4. Know your target and what is beyond it.

The Technique: How to Clear Your Garment

Our apparel is engineered for speed. To maximize the Tarnkappe Gear advantage, follow these steps when drawing from concealment:

  1. The Grip: Using your support hand (non-dominant hand), aggressively grab the shirt fabric near the bottom hem, close to the centerline of your body.

  2. The Clear: Forcefully pull the material straight up toward your chest. This motion will instantly disengage our hidden GhostSnaps™ system, splitting the bottom of the shirt open without tearing the fabric.

  3. The Draw: With the garment cleared and pinned high by your support hand, use your dominant hand to establish a master grip and draw your firearm from the holster smoothly.

The video demonstration below highlights this exact advantage. Because the faux buttons hide our quick-release snaps, the Everyday Protector can achieve a faster, frictionless draw while maintaining the appearance of a traditional button-up shirt.
